Delhi: Get a Taste of India's History and Food!

Delhi, India's crazy capital, is like a mix of old stories, cool culture, and yummy food.

- Cool Places to See:

- Red Fort: It's super old and famous, made of red stone. You can see the Diwan-i-Amm and a light show at night. It's open from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and it costs ₹50 for Indians and ₹600 for foreigners.

- Qutub Minar: It's a tall thing with awesome carvings, part of something built a long time ago. It's about 15 km to the south, open when the sun's up, and costs ₹40/₹600 to get in.

- India Gate: It's a tall monument for war heroes in Delhi, with green parks all around. Great for walks or flying kites in the evening.

- Humayun’s Tomb: It's a pretty tomb in a garden, kind of like old Persian designs. It's near Hazrat Nizamuddin, about 2 km east.

- Lotus Temple: It's a peaceful place with marble petals, like a flower. It's about 12 km southeast, open from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

- Yummy Food and Culture:

- Chandni Chowk: It's an old market where you can try parathas, chaat, and kebabs. Go between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

- Dilli Haat: It's a market where you can buy handmade stuff and try food from all over India, like momos and dosas. It's about 10 km south of Connaught Place.

- Akshardham Temple: It's a new temple with amazing buildings and a boat ride that shows Indian history. It's open from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and it's free to get in.

- Other Good Stuff:

- Jama Masjid: It's a big mosque where a lot of people can pray, and you can see the whole city from the top. It's open when the sun's up, and it costs ₹200 to bring a camera.

- Rashtrapati Bhavan: It's where the President lives, and you can see the gardens if you sign up.

### Tips for Travelers:

- Best Time to Visit: October to March is nice and cool. April to June is super hot, and July to September has rain but lots of green.

- Moving Around: You can use the Delhi Metro, autos, or cabs. The airport is about 15 km to the southwest.

- Places to Stay: You can find cheap places in Paharganj, okay places near Karol Bagh, or fancy hotels like The Leela.

- Be Safe: Watch out for people who steal in the markets, and don't go to dark places by yourself at night. Have small money for the stores.

- When to Go: See the Red Fort or Qutub Minar early so it's not too crowded. Chandni Chowk is great in the evening for food.
